WebAuzar is a free online image compressor and photo size reducer for JPG, JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF, BMP and AVIF images. You can reduce image file size directly in your browser without installing desktop software or creating an account.
Compression reduces the amount of data stored in an image file. It is useful when a photo is too large for an online form, job application, email attachment, website upload or other file-size limit. The amount of reduction depends on the original image, dimensions, format and selected settings.
The compressor now supports an automatic workflow: after upload, images are processed with the current settings. You can use a quality-based workflow for general image compression, or select a target KB size when the receiving website specifies a maximum file size. Settings can also be changed after upload, and the result is regenerated using the new options.
If you need a particular file-size limit, WebAuzar also provides dedicated target-size pages such as compress image to 100KB, compress image to 200KB and other common KB/MB targets. Compression and resizing are different operations. Compression changes how image data is stored, while resizing changes the image width and height. If an upload requirement specifies exact pixel dimensions, use the Resize Image tool as well.
